IADH Scientific Activity

iADH encourages inclusive research in order to improve the quality of care and outcomes for people with disabilities. Researchers are encouraged to share their contributions to improve Oral Health and oral health-related factors through the submission of abstracts to the biannual congresses and enter iADH research awards competitions. iADH also offers research symposia and travel bursaries for young researchers and iADH has fostered partnerships with journals who are interested in publishing research in SCD, disability and oral health.

iADH Research Network

To facilitate the sharing of research and to promote multi-centre research IADH is creating a number of research Networks. The aim is to create databases for researchers to register themselves, their clinical / research centres or their research labs. This data will be accessible via a central database which will act as a source of networking for interested research activities. iADH also participates in wider research networks by linking to the IADR-DASCR (Dental Anaesthesiology and Special Care Research) group and has a memorandum of understanding with DASCR.

Scientific Committee

The scientific committee includes many of the most eminent scientists in this diverse field, with no less than 7 professors of Special Care Dentistry. The committee leads on research strategy and writes scientific content for iADH. The Scientific Committee promotes research networks, supporting and articulating the development of projects among members of the association. They are responsible for judging all iADH research competitions and they work in collaboration with the Scientific Committee of each iADH congress to assure the quality of the scientific content.
